Dr Nick Mortimer has been a New Zealand based professional geologist for more than 25 years. His areas of expertise include mineralogy, structural geology and tectonics. Hamish Campbell has been a professional geologist in New Zealand for more than 30 years and is best known for his role as geologist and science commentator at Te Papa. Margaret Low is happiest behind a camera and works as a science photo-librarian and photographer. All three authors are employed by GNS Science.
This does not have any solutions for the problems in the book. Most people, including many physicians, accept the claims of proponents of alternative medicine at face value, succumbing to their mastery of public relations. Paranormal is the fantasy among reality. It is an excellent introduction. It is a very good book, but I would recommend "The Seven Principles" over this one.. The use of religion and religious prayer, especially in Latin, was a bit much. Sugar remained the premiere commodity that slaves produced until it was overtaken by North American cotton around 1820. The writing style is clear, organized and more than informative. Oh, my! It's a wonderful book. Later parts give information on the many companies and groups involved in the Unix history, most notably the development of the BSD systems.
