The author mentions that there were about 1,000 photographers around at the time, and he has the prints to prove it.
This was an amazing show at the MET, but there is something about sitting down and taking your time going through the pictures, that just makes it all seem so much more real. The book and pictures has to move you.
Great gift for any Civil War fan, or history junky.
