Langston Hughes (1902 1967) was born in Joplin, Missouri, and lived much of his life in Harlem, New York. As one America s most cherished chroniclers of the black experience, known for his work during the Harlem Renaissance, Hughes s work was constantly groundbreaking throughout his forty-six-year career. His poetry about the ocean and the symbolism that surrounds it stems from his travels through Africa and Europe working as a seaman.
When words appear, they often make an arc across the page. The Bank of Japan is jealous of its independence. Remember how I said a great writer will make you feel the interaction between the characters? With the loathing I had for this family, I felt that interaction between those characters and ME! His offspring are probably the only people who could make a suicide (by hanging no less) feel like a bloody escape.
Now I'm going to warn you that there are two parts in this book that will make you pause. However, there's more content here than in most books set up to accompany an online program. Wonderful, simple book to teach kinders a bit about this holiday. I would recommend this book to anyone with background knowledge and interest in teacher evaluation and instructional leadership. It does get five stars for a good explanation of what the whole wheat problem is, what we have done to wheat over the centuries, why it isn't really what we think of as good food anymore. No lie
