I will purchase here again!!! It's so easy to color in.. This is an invigorating and thoughtful collection and a fine perspective on the last century.. A book about photography during the Civil War, not a photographic history of the Civil War. I recommend this volume as a gift and as a textbook for students. He recalls the apprenticeship of his youth, sitting in with the greats. Terkel did not profile famous athletes, politicians, and CEOs; his interviews capture the lives of those who have made - and continue to make - an impact on our local communities.
It did not take very long to become addicted to this book. Rosenheim points out that there were roughly 1,000 photographers on the move during the war, producing hundreds of thousands of images. It is certainly a volume worth possessing whether for one's comprehensive Civil War book shelf or for that of the person simply interested in the early stages of commercial photography.
