I don't want to go into too many details for fear of spoilers, but know that there was much smiling, giggling, and near-bawling on my part.
The writing is beautiful and filled with vivid descriptions that bring the story to life. And not only
does this book go into the artistic life of Kreisler, but also the times in which he lived. I had no problem finding mentors for my daughter - there were always other mothers & teachers. And then there are other questions that aren't answered: how did the H track the h down after their first meeting? Why does the h persist in thinking she's ugly with all evidence to the contrary? What was she studying in school? What was up with her and her sister? They had a terrible relationship in the few interactions they had in the book, yet at the end her sister was a bridesmaid.
So overall, I finished this book feeling very dissatisfied, with lots of unanswered questions, and the answers could have turned this book around for me..
