It can be enjoyed by people of any age, and I look forward to reading more of the Thirteen Moons books.. The dust jacket says the story is for ages 8-12, but I would take issue with that. It will be especially interesting to those who have the education to understand and interpret the Christian allegories. I thought this book would be a releif from the spiritual and theological reading I have been doing. i really liked the way the book was written, you could almost feel yourself in the house with these people and suffer what they must have been going thru a must read.. She also nicely threw me off track several times on guessing a major plot point. In a dream sequence, Arthur grows wings and, as an insect, flies out of prison to nest comfortably in Lucille’s hair. If you think I'm exaggerating I would love to chat with you after you've read this book. My sister’s cute kid liked this story too, and always asked me to tell this story again & again..
